Hollywood Software Inks Deal with Marcus Theatres to Utilize Enterprise Web

LOS ANGELES, CA

Click Here to Set Up a DemoOctober 13, 2015 – Woodland Hills-based Hollywood Software announced today that it has signed an exclusive deal with Marcus Theatres, the fifth largest theatre circuit in the United States, to use Hollywood Software’s Enterprise Web theatre management platform to centrally manage operations for its nearly 700 screens.

Enterprise Web gives circuit management a look at operations inside all its theaters from one centralized website, where shows can be monitored for operational issues that could put them at risk, and then evaluated to determine actual performance versus plan. It also allows exhibitors to have just one qualified staff member take over tasks previously assigned to every theater manager on a weekly basis – such as KDM management, title mapping, and trailer pack building – thus creating circuit-wide efficiencies.

“The benefits of a centralized management platform for our theatre management systems (TMS) will be realized by multiple departments, all while streamlining work, increasing accuracy and avoiding lost shows,” said Mark Collins, Director of Projection Technology, Marcus Theatres. “While researching Enterprise Web and talking to our internal teams, including Marketing, Operations, Advertising and Film Booking, it became clear that there is now more than ever a need for a central control and distribution system to facilitate new requirements of our business. Enterprise Web will bring us consistency, greater flexibility and compliance monitoring throughout the circuit.”

“The team at Marcus Theatres has been a great partner over the years that they have been using our TCC3 theatre management system in their locations,” said Kim Lockhart, Senior Vice President of Exhibitor Systems, Hollywood Software. “We look forward to now expanding that partnership as we work with them to first integrate the efficiencies Enterprise Web offers into their business, and then collaborate to bring additional industry best practices to the product over the long term.”

Some of the features most recently added to Enterprise Web to help streamline tasks for its growing user base include:

  • “TurnKey” KDM Management – Ingest, match and quickly deliver keys to devices across an entire circuit via delivery to a central location. This automated process eliminates the need for staff to do anything other than call the studio in the rare event a KDM is not sent.
  • Trailer, Advertising and Policy Performance Reports – Select a date range to view performance data for specified content. Then download the report to PDF or Excel for sharing internally or with external partners.
  • Trusted Device Lists – Choose a specific theater, territory or an entire circuit, then download your TDL to PDF or Excel to get the latest hardware models, serial numbers and software versions straight from the TMS’s last update.

“With Enterprise Web, our exhibitor clients like Marcus Theatres are finally able to realize all of the operational efficiencies promised by Digital Cinema,” said Larry McCourt, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Hollywood Software.  “Centrally managing weekly tasks like title mapping, trailer placement, and the complete automation of KDM delivery not only reduces the chance of missed shows, but also will allow previously burdened staff to focus on creating customer experiences that will remind them why they left their home to see movies as the artist intended.”

Hollywood Software Inks Deal with Broad Green Pictures to Use TDS Distributor

LOS ANGELES, CA

Click Here to Set Up a DemoJuly 28, 2015 – Woodland Hills-based Hollywood Software announced today that it has signed a deal with independent entertainment company, Broad Green Pictures, to utilize its TDS Distributor product for upcoming theatrical releases. Broad Green, which was founded last year by brothers Gabriel and Daniel Hammond, is a film production, financing and distribution company.

“Broad Green conducted an intensive search for a distribution product that could support our current needs and grow with us as we release more films,” said Travis Reid, President of Theatrical Distribution, Broad Green. “I was already familiar with Hollywood Software’s systems, having worked with them when I was at Screenvision. After comparing their new TDS Distributor against similar products in the market, we quickly realized TDS is the most versatile, efficient and comprehensive system for our needs and we’re excited about all the support it will offer us as we expand.”

“Broad Green is just the kind of company we love to work with,” said David Gajda, President, Hollywood Software. “They’re a new era movie studio that provides artists with all of the tools they need to not only get films made, but to get them widely distributed. They were planning to release their first movie, Director Mia Hansen-Love’s Eden, a week after we met. From the moment we signed with them it took only 24 hours to train their staff and enter their first booking—a remarkably fast turnaround. They were able to get up and running immediately, putting them in a great position to manage their first feature, and all future releases.”

Broad Green’s upcoming slate includes 99 Homes, starring Andrew Garfield; A Walk in the Woods, starring Robert Redford; I Smile Back, starring Sarah Silverman; and three Terrence Malick films: Knight of Cups, Voyage of Time and an untitled project starring Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara and Michael Fassbender.

The deal was negotiated on behalf of Broad Green Pictures by their CTO, Jeremy Fuchs.

Hollywood Software Inks Deal With Classic Cinemas To Implement Its New Exhibitor Management System (EMS) v1.7

New Version Features Major Enhancements That Allow Exhibitors to Further Streamline Home Office Booking and Box Office Operations

HOLLYWOOD, CA

Click Here to Set Up a DemoFebruary 12, 2015 – Woodland Hills-based Hollywood Software announced today that Classic Cinemas was the first exhibitor to implement Version 1.7 of its Exhibitor Management System (EMS) this January. The new version of EMS, which has been helping cinema exhibitors book and track film payables since 2001, features many business-driven enhancements and efficiencies that help to streamline bookings, optimize operations and increase productivity.

Version 1.7 of EMS features:

  • Numerous booking enhancements, including calendar functionality to aid in booking non-standard engagements (non-consecutive dates, early opens, alternative content)
  • Automated Box Office auditing
  • The ability to make circuit-wide updates to Box Office and Accruals
  • Performance enhancements
  • Many new optional reports, including a “Holdover by Buyer” report for communicating hold status, shared screens and non-standard openings to theatres

“Being a small, family-owned business, we are always looking for ways to streamline our processes,” said Chris Johnson, CEO, Classic Cinemas. “The features in this new version of EMS, especially the automated auditing and ability to mass update terms, are huge time-savers for our team. And whenever we have a question, the Hollywood Software team is highly responsive. The level of service under their new ownership is excellent.”

“Classic Cinemas is a fantastic partner and their team was great to work with on this new implementation of EMS,” said Kim Lockhart, Senior Vice President of Exhibitor Systems, Hollywood Software. “Our plan is to now upgrade every existing EMS client to version 1.7 so all of our home office users can take advantage of the software’s new efficiencies. We know our Exhibitor clients are under increased pressure to do more with less these days, and EMS’s automations, reporting capabilities and ability to update data circuit-wide with one or two clicks will help reduce the time it takes them to create, communicate and settle their film bookings each week.”

Hollywood Software will also be inviting all EMS clients to join them at CinemaCon this April to discuss the ever-changing nature of the exhibition business. “We are a client-focused software company,” added David Gajda, President, Hollywood Software. “The movie business is constantly evolving, therefore our software must quickly evolve with it.  We are looking forward to unveiling our new roadmap for the next evolution of EMS with our customer base and hearing what additional enhancements they are looking for within the product.”
